A CIMA Research Foundation is a research organization concerned with the study, prediction and prevention of climate change-related hazards such as floods, forest fires, droughts, and loss of terrestrial and marine biodiversity. It is recognized as a center of excellence for civil protection by the national Italian regulation.

1. Environmental issues in Disaster Risk Management

This course deals with the Disaster Risk Assessment (DRA), which is an approach to determine the nature and extent of disaster risk by analysing potential hazards and evaluating existing conditions of exposure and vulnerability that together could harm people, property, services, livelihoods and the environment on which they depend.

2. Information Management

Information management (IM) is the process of identifying, acquiring, manipulating, analyzing, and sharing data related specifically to operations and populations of interest for planning activities or following an emergency event.

3. Gender and human rights in DRM

The aim of this course is to learn more about the connection between gender and human rights in relations to Disaster Risk Management (DRM), and in particular give you terminology, examples and practice on how you can incorporate these aspects in to your own day-to-day work.
